The chief commander of the Iranian Army says Iran’s Armed Forces will not allow any foreign interference and aggression against the country.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi made the remarks while addressing a military ceremony on Sunday, adding that all branches of Iran’s Armed Forces support one another and form the nation’s front line for protecting the country’s security and heading off threats.
“Our enemies cannot tolerate the progress of this nation and the solidarity between the nation and the Armed Forces,” he said, adding, “One of their main goals is to undermine security ... and finally weaken the defensive power of the country.”
Mousavi added that the enemies of Iran are using hybrid warfare and modern methods to weaken the country’s defenses and shatter the Iranian people’s resistance to achieve their ominous goals.
“Their most important strategy is to spread despair, shatter the steadfastness of the great Iranian nation, and undermine security of Iran in order to disrupt its independence and progress. They seek to deprive this nation of security and hope, and destroy its resistance,” he noted.
Addressing the Iranian youths, the chief commander of the Army said all the mischievous acts committed by the “the criminal US” and the “infanticide Zionist regime” will be taken into consideration “and the day will come when these scores are settled all at once, and you dear youths will see that day with your own eyes.”
His remarks came a day after Iran’s highest ranking military commander warned that enemies are posing "hybrid threats" to the country, stressing the importance of boosting preparedness to combat such a menace.
"In fact, we are currently facing hybrid threats. Military, security and cultural threats as well as emerging and sometimes unknown threats… and we have to get prepared for such a ... confrontation," Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri said on Saturday.
