Palestinians hold conference in Gaza to condemn 'Oslo Accords'

Palestinians have held a national conference to mark 29 years since the signing of the Oslo Accords.
Hundreds of people attended the conference demanding the cancelation of the agreements.
In September 1993, the Palestine Liberation Organization, PLO, signed the Oslo Accords with the Israeli regime on the lawn of the White House in Washington DC.
Palestinian resistance movement Hamas asserted the failure of the Oslo Accords and called on the Palestinian Authority to withdraw its recognition of the Israeli regime.
The Oslo Accords were meant to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but nearly three decades later, Palestinians consider them as a bad chapter in their history.
Attendees slammed the Oslo Accords and expressed their support to resistance against the Israeli regime. Senior officials attending the conference called on all Palestinians to unite their ranks and adhere to armed resistance against the Israeli occupation.
Observers say the Oslo Accords have only brought calamities to Palestinians and have failed to secure the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
Twenty-nine years on, Palestinians say that peace accords will not free their land, and it is only armed resistance which will help them regain their rights.
