Hold your breath, aim, pull the trigger and bingo, bull's eye! This is a race between some of the sharpest snipers of the world.

Shooters from Russia, China, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Azerbaijan and Iran have been competing in the International Snipers Competition held in Iran's central city of Yazd.

Organized by the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the 10-day competition is held in 20 different items, all aimed at testing the ultimate shooting skills of the contestants in various war conditions.

The event comes as part of Russia's International Army Games of 20-22, which is hosting over 270 teams from 37 countries and regions.

The Sniper Contest in Iran will wrap up with an awards ceremony on August 27 to introduce the best shooters.

This is a game of concentration and patience, and sharp shooters are those who are cool-minded and don't rush for the target.

But contestants here say whether they miss the shot or nail it, they all contribute to the same goal, and that's to foster peace and friendship among the participating countries.
