Under the title "Blockade on Yemen, slow killing of civilians under the UN cover", Yemen's Ministry of Human Rights has held a press conference in Yemen's capital Sana'a to highlight the catastrophic repercussions of the ongoing Saudi blockade on Yemen despite the UN brokered truce.
Officials say the United Nations is responsible for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen throughout the armistice as it has failed to force Riyadh to fulfill its obligations under the agreement.
Recently, Yemenis have demonstrated in front of the United Nations envoy's office in Sana'a to criticize Riyadh's continued detention of Yemeni fuel ships amid the UN brokered truce.
Human Rights activists believe the Saudi violations of the UN-brokered truce will not stop unless the world body takes real measures against the kingdom. They say the terms of the armistice should be completely fulfilled before any extension.
