Occupying Israeli regime’s existence tied to fostering instability, Iran’s UN envoy says

Iran’s permanent ambassador to the UN office in Geneva has roundly denounced the latest remarks by an Israeli diplomat against the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), emphasizing that the occupying Tel Aviv regime tends to create instability and tensions at the expense of others in order not to fade out of existence.

“Zionism essentially relies on destabilizing its surroundings so as to survive and grow. This is what a renowned scholar [Pakistani economist, academic and social scientist Muhammad Shahid Alam] calls the Destabilizing Logic of Zionism,” Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh stated.

He added that Israel “is inherently destabilizing, and the fact is evident throughout the short but tragic life of the regime. The factor that has guaranteed the survival of the regime is nothing other than continuation of tensions and troubles between the West and Muslim societies. This is an intrinsic and not accidental characteristic of the political philosophy of Zionism.”

The spokesman for the Iraqi anti-terror Kata’ib Hezbollah movement says the presence of Israeli operatives in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region will drag Iraq into war.

Baghaei Hamaneh was reacting to Wednesday’s statements by the Israeli regime's permanent representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva Meirav Eilon Shahar in a Human Rights Council meeting, where she accused the IRGC of destabilizing the region by launching missile strikes on the secret bases of the Israeli spy agency Mossad in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

In the early hours of March 13, a dozen ballistic missiles hit undisclosed Mossad bases in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, reportedly leaving several Israeli operatives dead.

In a statement issued later in the day, the IRGC indicated that the operation was in response to a recent Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital of Damascus, in which two IRGC officers were killed.

The IRGC identified the two officers as colonels Ehsan Karbalaipour and Morteza Saeidnejad, warning that Israel would pay for this crime.

Baghaei Hamaneh also pointed to recent reports by international organizations and the Human Rights Council which have branded Israel as an apartheid and racist regime.

“The logic and ideology of Zionism is necessarily the creator and promoter of a bigoted and racist structure, which justifies itself by massacring innocent Palestinians, seizing their lands and destroying their homes,” the Iranian ambassador said.

Ballistic missiles hit Mossad bases in Iraq’s Erbil, kill Israeli officers: Iraqi media

Iraqi media and military sources say scores of ballistic missiles have hit bases belonging to Israel’s Mossad spy agency in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, killing a number of Mossad officers, according to reports.

“It is because of such a destabilizing logic that Israel views Daesh as a useful partner in order to destabilize and insecure Muslim nations. Tension-making and chaos have become the hallmark of the Zionist regime, and terrorism and the pursuit of violence are the matters they are expert in,” Baghaei Hamaneh underscored.

He highlighted that the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3379, adopted on November 10, 1975, determines that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination. The latest remarks against the IRGC are not surprising as Israeli authorities are enraged by the force’s determination to exterminate Daesh, violent extremism and terrorism in the region, Baghaei Hamaneh said.

Last week, the spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said the elite military force will not hesitate to strike other Israeli bases in the Iraqi Kurdistan region if its officials do not dismantle them.

“It is our natural right to destroy any base from which any attack is carried out against the security of Iran and this is a red line” for us, Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif told Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network on March 17.

IRGC warns Israel after missile strike on Mossad bases in Erbil

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Israel following a retaliatory missile strike on the "strategic center of Zionist conspiracy and evil" in northern Iraqi Kurdistan city of Erbil.

According to Sharif, Iran’s ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi had on several occasions warned the Iraqi Kurdistan region about the presence of the Mossad base, which was recently attacked by the IRGC, and two other similar bases.

“If Iraqi officials do not take action to remove other bases of Zionists in this country while our security continues to be threatened from this region, we will respond without hesitation,” the IRGC’s spokesman added.
