Tehran has hosted a meeting to discuss Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani’s strategy towards regional wars and the US failures.
The event which crimes as the country is marking the second anniversary of the assassination of the Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani highlighted the commander as an extra-national figure whose strategic attitudes foiled US plots in the West Asia.
The panelists believed that Lieutenant General Soleimani was a man of wisdom who had his own theories and could establish a very good connection between the battlefield and diplomacy.
Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated in a US drone strike near Baghdad’s airport on January 2, 2020 upon direct order by then US president Donald Trump. During the terrorist attack, Iraq’s PMU deputy commander Abu Mahadi al-Mandis and number of bodyguards were also martyred.
Martyr Soleimani is known for eliminating Daesh terrorists in Iraq in 2017. He also led major operations in Syria that led to the recapturing of key areas from the terror group. That's why his assassination is viewed as a huge loss for the region and a big win for the terrorists and their supporters.
Given the grave implications of the US act of terror on international peace and stability, Iran has called on the UN Security Council to hold the US and the Israeli regime accountable for planning, supporting and committing such a heinous crime.
