In the biggest mosque in Yemen's capital Sana'a, Yemenis have honored top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who were assassinated by the US two years ago.

The event was attended by many state officials.

Participants recalled the actions of General Soleimani and how he played a pivotal role in strengthening the resistance movement across the region especially Palestinian movements in their battle with the Israeli enemy.

Two years have passed since the assassination of Iranian Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani by the US. In Yemen, people see his martyrdom as a big loss for the Muslim world but at the same time, they say it has given great impetus to an entire generation.

Yemenis believe that General Qassem Soleimani has become the symbol of a revolution that inspires people to find freedom and dignity. They have made a resolution to continue his legacy in the face of the years-long aggression against their country by Saudi Arabia and its western backers.
