Over the NBA, the Golden State Warriors have earned a 116-107 win at the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day to go top of the Western Conference.
Leading by 6 points after a quarter of play, the Warriors ran out of steam in the 2nd handing it to Phoenix who were up 62-58 at half time. But Golden State erased the 4-point deficit by the end of the 3rd to tie it at 84-all and went on to take the final stanza and the win.
Stephen Curry had a game-high 33-points for the Warriors who grabbed their 2nd win in 3 head-to-head matchups with the Suns this season. Chris Paul chipped in 21 points for Phoenix, who saw their 15-game home winning streak come to an end.
The Brooklyn Nets secured their place at the top of the Eastern Conference after a 122-115 victory at the Los Angeles Lakers.
Brooklyn thought they had enough to secure the win after 3 quarters, having led the Lakers 102-82 at the Staples Center. And a furious forth quarter comeback attempt by LA made no difference as the Nets held on for the win, inflicting a 5th loss in a row on the Lakers.
James Harden collected 36 points in the win while LeBron James fell short of avoiding another defeat despite scoring 39.
