English Premier League: Late Gray goal gives Everton 2-1 win over Arsenal

Everton have overcome 2 disallowed goals to beat Arsenal 2-1 thanks to a late winner by Demarai Gray.

Andros Townsend curled in a superb cross that was flicked home by Richarlison. But a VAR review disallowed the goal for offside. 

Arsenal struck minutes later as Kieran Tierney’s pin-point delivery was volleyed home by Martin Odegaard just before half time.

The Brazilian was on target again, scoring his second in the 58th minute, yet another VAR intervention deemed him offside again. 

Richarlison’s persistence finally paid off in the 80th minute when his looping header level up the terms.

With the game heading for a draw, Demarai Gray unleashed a venomous shot that went in offF the post in injury time, giving Everton their first league win in 9 games.

The win moves Everton up to 12th, while Arsenal are seventh, four points off the Champions League places.
