Iran’s Greco Roman team have bagged a precious gold and 3 bronze medals on the penultimate day of the World Junior Championships in Russia.
In the final of the 55-kilogram weight-class, Amir Dehbozorgi outmuscled his Uzbek opponent 3-1 to take Iran’s first gold.
Iman Mohammadi, Mohammad Azarmdokht and Amir Bayat came out on top of their repechage rounds in the 63, 77 and 130kg classes respectively, to clinch 3 bronze medals.
Team Iran will wrap up the World Championships on Sunday, with Saeed Esmaeili wrestling for gold in the 60kg, and Morteza Alghosi competing for Bronze in the 97kg.
