A hat-trick by Richarlison has led Brazil to a 4-2 thrashing of Germany in their opening match in Group D of the Tokyo Olympics men's soccer tournament.
The Everton Striker was on target as early as the 7th minute, tucking in a fine finish for the opener.
Richarlison then headed the defending champions into a 2-nil lead in the 22nd minute. And by the 30th minute, he completed his hat-trick on a counter attack to plunge Germany into chaos.
But, the 2016 runners-up held their nerves after the break and pulled one back, through Nadim Amiri in the 56th minute.
And that was followed by Ragnar Ache’s late goal, which gave Germany hope of rescuing the most unlikely of draws.
However, the equalizer never came, and Brazil once again caught them on the break deep into stoppage time, with Paulinho adding a 4th to seal the win they deserved.
