Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have held demonstrations in several parts of the enclave in response to the return of the controversial flag march in East Jerusalem al-Quds.

The protesters said the march was aimed at provoking Palestinians anger. They burnt Israeli flags and vowed to defend Jerusalem al-Quds with all means.

The extremist flag march passed through the Old City’s Damascus gate and entered the Muslim quarter. It came amid a fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip following the recent Israeli aggression that claimed nearly 260 Palestinian lives. The flag march caused Hamas to warn that new tensions in the Gaza Strip will break out after Israel’s 11-day escalation on the enclave.

The Palestinian resistance in Gaza announced its readiness for any conflict with the Israeli regime in response to the violations against Palestinians in Jerusalem al-Quds.

The controversial flag march in Jerusalem al-Quds risks reigniting tensions with Palestinians both in the occupied territories and the besieged Gaza Strip. Hamas has warned that the march would trigger a new conflict.
