Windrush saga deepens

The wrongful detainment, deportation and denial of legal rights predominantly affecting Britain's Caribbean communities, known as the Windrush scandal, first made headlines several years ago, mostly impacting the generations who had legally migrated to the UK between the late 1940s and early 1970s.

Despite government promises to tackle the problem, many more in Britain's Black communities continue to be traumatized by government policies which critics characterize as racist and which were recently slammed in a High Court ruling, which suggested that home office rules impacting those affected by the scandal were irrational and in some cases had even led to the unlawful denial of British citizenship.

Other Windrush victims are still fighting to get any justice or government support, with one even saying that they had had more support from the local supermarket than the home office.

The Windrush scandal which first made headlines several years ago continues with more deportations likely planned in the near future with the government remaining squarely in the spotlight with thousands of people demanding action.

The Windrush scandal almost exclusively impacting Britain's Black communities continues to have a devastating effect with the government appearing to have taken no serious action to stop the injustice.
