Yemenis have welcomed the US decision to stop support for the Saudi-led coalition's operations in Yemen and send a special envoy to the war-torn country to stop the war.
However, there are some people who believe that the decision seems worthless as the war was launched when the current US president, Joe Biden, was the deputy of the former president, Barack Obama.
Ansarullah movement said it hopes that the decision could serve as the first step toward stopping the war and achieving a lasting peace.
Since the beginning of 2015, Yemenis have been suffering a devastating war launched by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition, which has led the country to the worst humanitarian crisis in the world according to the United Nations.
US President Joe Biden said on Thursday said Washington was stopping all support for Saudi Arabia's offensive operations in Yemen but would continue to defend its ally against other threats.
Yemenis believe that the US decision will have no effect on the the Saudi-led coalition because the coalition will continue its operations unless the international community adopts a clear and resolute position towards Saudi Arabia.
