As COVID19 pushes people into self-isolation, physical activity has slashed to an alarming level, but to some people, nothing can stop everyday workout. "Call for Exercise in Neighborhoods" is the title of an initiative taken by Iran's Sport for All Federation meant to keep exercise up and running amid the coronavirus lockdowns.

Studies show that obesity has grown drastically during the pandemic. The closure of school, coupled with tele-working and other restrictions on outdoor activities around the world have prevented the public from achieving recommended levels of physical activity. This challenge is worse when it comes to the elderly.

Experts warn that if this trend goes on, the public health will fall out of the frying pan into the fire.

It advised people to stick to the least possible home-based physical activity to avoid the side effects of COVID lockdowns, such as obesity and anxiety.

As COVID interrupts most of our day-to-day habits, experts say the good ones like workout have also been a victim. Now this initiative is a smart way to both stay safe from the coronavirus and avoid the undesirable consequences of social distancing.
