Russian medics on Wednesday (June 24) took part in a Victory Day parade in the North Caucasian resort city of Zheleznovodsk. The event was postponed from May 9 due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Doctors and volunteers marched through the city accompanied by a military orchestra and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame Memorial. Medics paid tribute to the doctors who saved lives at the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and expressed their solidarity with those who work amid coronavirus pandemic.

Celebrations all over Russia marking the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Union's World War Two victory over the Nazis were postponed because of the epidemic. Critics said that it was irresponsible to go ahead with it so early in June.
