It was like a bad dream, thats how one worker from the Philippines described his experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A worker from Bangladesh describes a painful life and one that cannot be explained. A rural woman from India whose son was beheaded in a secret trial in the Kingdom says we have no more tears, our tears have all dried up (HRW, July 13, 2004).
This is just a snapshot of the pain and misery faced by millions of migrant workers in the Kingdom every day. By any standard, Saudi Arabias treatment of its low skilled and unskilled migrant workforce is abysmal. And by most accounts it is actually getting worse.
