All across the United Kingdom, Brexit has dominated both the headlines and the political agenda this year but, under the surface, a new and potentially more critical crisis is looming; the potential breakup of the Kingdom itself.

All across Britain, anti-Union independence movements have sprung up; starting a snow ball which is rapidly gaining momentum.

The largest of these is the All Under One Banner group in Scotland, which have organised monthly rallies, attracting tens of thousands. The group has inspired sister branches in Wales too.

It is not just on the streets that the anti-Westminster sentiment is growing – independence seeking political parties, including Plaid Cymru in Wales and the SNP in Scotland have seen membership sore and increased success in recent elections.

The North of Ireland is also facing a return to violence over the controversial Irish-border issue.

With further action planned next year, British PM Johnson faces an mammoth challenge of keeping this dis-united Kingdom together.
