The initial stage of the inquiry into the tragic fire which took place at Grenfell Tower in June 2017, claiming at least 72 lives, has now been released. As those affected by the fire still await justice, the information in the report still leaves many questions unanswered:
While the initial newspaper headlines seem to blame the firefighters Grenfell activists maintain that responsibility ultimately lies elsewhere
As well as central government the spotlight is also squarely focused on the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council
Lack of mental health support the withholding of donations and the non re-housing of residents for many, underline the blatant and malign disregard of the council as many see it.
While the Grenfell inquiry is set to continue, many fear a whitewash and the government evading responsibility,
More than 2 years on from the fire at Grenfell and those affected are still demanding justice, real accountability and also for action to be taken to prevent another similar disaster happening in the future.
