Video shows Trump partying with Epstein in 1992 at Mar-a-Lago

A new video surfaced Wednesday showing US President Donald Trump partying with Jeffrey Epstein at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.

A new video has surfaced showing US President Donald Trump and wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein chatting at a party in 1992 at Trump's estate in Palm Beach, Florida, despite Trump’s claims that he barely knew the registered sex offender.

NBC News said it founded the 1992 video in its archives and posted it on Wednesday. The US news organization said the video was recorded as part of a profile of Trump, who was newly divorced at the time.

The footage shows the real estate tycoon welcoming Epstein to the party at his Mar-a-Lago estate and appearing to discuss women dancing to music in front of them.

It shows the future president surrounded by young women, whom NBC identifies as cheerleaders for the Buffalo Bills, an American football team in Buffalo, New York.

Trump has admitted knowing Epstein, and in a 2002 interview called him a “terrific guy” who “likes beautiful women as much as I do.”

But last week he said they haven’t spoken to each other for 15 years after a falling-out. “I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” Trump said. “I was not a fan.”

Epstein is currently in jail, facing federal charges in New York of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls in the early 2000s. His indictment, unsealed last week, shows conspiracy and sex trafficking charges that could result in up to 45 years in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty.

US Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta resigned last week amid the backlash over his handling of a 2008 secret plea deal with Epstein.

Acosta was the US attorney for the Southern District of Florida from 2005 through 2009. It was there that he handled Epstein’s first case involving sex with girls, which resulted in Epstein being sentenced to just 13 months in a county jail, a punishment that critics say was far too lenient.

Acosta oversaw the 2008 non-prosecution agreement that allowed Epstein to avoid federal trial but plead guilty to state charges and serve 13 months in jail. The deal ended a federal sex abuse investigation involving at least 40 teenage girls that could have landed Epstein behind bars for life.
