Washington's behavior toward the government of Venezuela is indicative of the "facade of diplomacy" developed by the United States, a commentator says.
Chuck Kaufman, with the alliance for Global Justice, told Press TV on Wednesday that the way the administration of US President Donald Trump is meddling in the internal affairs of Venezuela shows that American authorities are “returning to the law of jungle.”
“We are seeing the entire facade of diplomacy developed for the last 500 years.”
Jorge Valero, Venezuela’s permanent ambassador to the UN, said on Tuesday that the United States was preparing for a “military invasion” of his country, amid Washington’s recent move to impose sanctions on the state-owned oil firm PDVSA in its harshest financial challenge yet to President Nicolas Maduro.
