South Korea, Qatar qualify for quarterfinals after beating Bahrain, Iraq

In the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, South Korea have edged past Bahrain 2-1 in extra time to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

South Korea broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute as Hwang Hee-Chan found the net on a rebound.

The Bahrainis had to wait until the 77th minute for the equalizer, as Mohamed Al Romaihi scored from inside the 6-yard box to send the match into extra time.

The Koreans retook the lead in the dying moments of the 1st half of extra time, when Kim Jin Su headed home from very close range.

And in the final match in the round of 16, Qatar kept another clean sheet to defeat Iraq 1-0. Bassam Al Rawi scored the only goal of the game for the Qataris with a superb free-kick after 62 minutes of play to set up a quarter-finals meeting with South Korea.
