Salah wins BBC African Footballer of Year for 2nd straight year

Egypt and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has won the BBC African Footballer of the Year Award for the 2nd year in a row. 

In the poll, Salah finished ahead of his Reds teammate Sadio Mane, as well as Medhi Benatia, Kalidou Koulibaly and Thomas Partey. The Egyptian had a very good debut season in Liverpool history, scoring 44 goals to help the club reach the Champions League final, and then represented his country at the World Cup. Salah is now the 1st player since Nigeria's Jay-Jay Okocha to win the award in consecutive years.
