The Israeli regime has approved plans for the construction of 31 new settler units in the occupied West Bank in grave contravention of international law and a United Nations Security Council resolution against the Tel Aviv regime's land grab policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Peace Now, an Israeli anti-settlement group that monitors settlement activity in the West Bank, said that the units will be built in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron), located 30 kilometers south of Jerusalem al-Quds.
About 750,000 Israelis live in over 230 illegal settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds. Palestinians want the West Bank as part of a future independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital.
