US President Donald Trump has used a campaign rally to mock the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

In a testimony before the US Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday, Ford said that Kavanaugh had pinned her to a bed, tried to remove her clothes and put his hand over her mouth in the early 1980s.

Trump, who has continued to support Kavanaugh despite sex allegations made by Ford and three other women, ridiculed the psychology professor by imitating her voice at a rally in Southaven, Mississippi on Tuesday night.

"How did you get home? I don't remember," he said, alternating the inflections. "Where is the place? I don't remember. How many years ago was it? I don't know ... But I only had one beer! That's all I remember."

And now, Trump said, "a man's life is in tatters."

The FBI investigation will be completed by Friday, but Ford's lawyers say it is "inconceivable" that the agency could conduct a thorough investigation without interviewing her.

The conservative judge has said the legal process launched against him was orchestrated by the US Democrats to disqualify him.

Trump and the rest of the Republican Party have also rejected all the allegations, accusing Democrats of organizing a smear campaign against Kavanaugh.

The president once more defended Kavanaugh before he left for an event in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

“It's a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of,” Trump told reporters on the White House South Lawn.

“You can be somebody that was perfect your entire life, and somebody could accuse you of something,” he added.
