A commission looking into claims of corruption and fraud in the public sector began its investigation last week. Zuma has long been accused of misusing state power and favouring his allies and wealthy business associates such as the infamous Gupta family, and allowing government agencies to be plundered for private gain. But the investigation does not have powers to arrest or prosecute. Africa Today asks what is the likelihood of this investigation leading to meaningful action?
