Thousands of members from various social movements and workers unions marched in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, protesting against low wages, major lay-offs and the closing down of unions.
The protesters moved along the Argentine capital's largest streets, exhibiting anti-government banners and chanting against the country's International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan, causing a standstill in traffic.
The IMF and Argentina signed a deal back in May, which secured a $50 billion (€43.1 billion) credit line to the financially-troubled South American country.
The deal was faced by backlash by many who view the international organisation as responsible for the country's financial downfall 17 years ago.
