The Iran men’s national under-20 volleyball team has continued to deliver marvelous performance at the 2018 Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Championship, and secured a berth in the semifinal round of the continental competitions.
The Iranian side clinched a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15 and 25-16) win over the Kazakh outfit at the end of a quarterfinal match in the Bahraini capital city of Manama on Thursday, and advanced to the last four.
Morteza Sharifi and Amirhossein Esfandiar top scored for Iran with 13 points each, while Kazakhstan’s Nurperzent Topar bagged five points.
The Iran men’s national under-20 volleyball team will face Thailand in its next fixture on Friday.
The 2018 Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Championship started on July 21, and will run through July 28, 2018.
The top two teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship as Asian representatives.
