Serbia have got their Group E campaign up and running with a 1-0 victory over Costa Rica.
Aleksandar Kolarov made the breakthrough in the second half, curling home a 25-meter free kick. Serbia had dominated against a Costa Rica side who rarely threatened after a bright start, but there were few chances to score.
With Brazil heavy favorites to win the group, the victory delivered a potentially vital three points for Serbia and left Costa Rica in a difficult position.
