Iranian swimmers have delivered outstanding performances at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games swimming qualifying event in Thailand, and received 14 medals at the tournament.
On Wednesday and the final day of the competitions in the Thai capital city of Bangkok, Ali Yavari recorded the time of 52:72 in the men's 100-meter freestyle section, and received the silver medal.
Ali Saravand also picked up the silver in the men's 50-meter breaststroke event, having clocked 29:77.
Mehdi Ansari was also awarded a bronze medal in the men’s 50-meter butterfly section.
Earlier in the tournament, Sina Gholampour ranked second in the men’s 100- meter freestyle heat, and snatched the gold medal.
Yavari claimed the second spot in the in the men’s 200-meter freestyle vent of the 16-18 age group, and grabbed the silver medal.
Ali Fathi scooped the gold medal in the men’s 50-meter backstroke, while Ansari got a bronze in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke section.
The 2018 Youth Olympic Games swimming qualifying event in Thailand started on April 7, and finished on April 11, 2018.
