Iranian karate practitioner Saeed Ahmadi Karyani has featured impressive athletic skills during the 2018 USA Open & Junior International Cup, and ranked first at the end of the international tournament.
Ahmadi Karyani showed a commendable display of vim and vigor in his march to the final competition of men’s kumite minus 75-kilogram category at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He eventually emerged triumphant (2-0) in his last encounter against Tom Scott, a representative from the host country, and scooped up the gold.
The Iranian sportsmen had earlier overwhelmed opponents from Panama (6-1), Ecuador (7-2) and the United States (4-1) respectively, before beating a rival from Chile (3-1) in the semi-final round and booking a place in the final showdown.
The 2018 USA Open & Junior International Cup kicked off on March 30 and concluded on April 1.
More than a thousand athletes reportedly took part in the competitions.
