Turkish football coach and former player Ertuğrul Sağlam has been appointed as the new head coach of Iranian professional soccer club Tractor Sazi Tabriz, wehich plays in Iran's Persian Gulf Pro League, on a one-and-a-half-year contract contract.
The 48-year-old, who was recently voted one of the top 20 most promising coaches by respected football magazine Champions, penned the contact for an undisclosed fee during a ceremony held at Yadegar-e-Emam Stadium, also popularly known as Sahand Stadium, on Friday evening.
Chairman of Tractor Sazi Tabriz Football Club, Mostafa Ajorlu, and a number of officials from the Tabriz-based club were in attendance.
Sağlam will replace Yahya Golmohammadi.
Tractor Sazi Tabriz Football Club stands in the eleventh spot in the Persian Gulf Pro League table, with 21 points.
Persepolis Football Club is the top-ranked soccer team in the rankings, with 45 points.
Football Club Pars Jonoubi Jam has bagged 33 points to claim the second position, while third-place Foolad Khuzestan Football Club has earned 33 points.
Zob Ahan Isfahan Football Club has landed in the fourth spot with 32 points. Saipa Football Club has claimed the fifth place with 31 points.
