Iranian squash player Navid Maleksabet has exhibited outstanding performances at the Men's Amir Kabir Open 2017, and been crowned as the greatest athlete of the international event.
On Friday and the final day of the tournament at Shohada-ye 5th Mordad Stadium in the central Iranian city of Arak, Maleksabet could triumph over his Iraqi opponent Rasool al-Sultani in the final match, and won the gold medal.
Iran’s Alireza Shameli and Martin Svec, a representative from the Czech Republic, jointly claimed the bronze medal.
The Men's Amir Kabir Open 2017 kicked on December 18, and wrapped up on December 22.
The tournament brought together 27 squash players from various countries, namely the Czech Republic, England, Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
