The Iran men's national canoe polo team has exhibited consummate skills at the 2017 Asian Canoe Polo Championships, and snatched the gold medal to emerge as the champion of the prestigious continental sporting event.
The Iranian outfit, consisting of Mahammad Ali Molaei, Ali Ghadami, Ramin Ghiathvand, Shaygan Kheirollahi, Mohammad Seddigh Heshmatian, Mohammad Yazdani and Amir Fattahpour, pulled off a 6-5 victory over the Japanese squad in the small Malaysian town of Sungai Mati, and struck the yellow metal.
Additionally, the Iran women's national canoe polo team conceded a 1-4 loss to the Chinese Taipei side, and got the silver medal.
The Iran men’s and women’s national under-21 canoe polo teams also ranked second in the competitions, and collected two silver medals.
The 2017 Asian Canoe Polo Championships started on November 8, and finished on November 12.
