The Iranian bodybuilding squad has ranked first at the 7th International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships & 12th World Amateur Classic Bodybuilding Championships & IFBB International Congress, and was crowned the champion of the international event.
Iran sealed the place atop the final medal standings with six medals, and stood ahead of South Korea, which picked up five gold medals.
Iran’s Samad Haydari, Hossein Kalateh and Mohsen Samadi snatched five gold medals in the 70-kilogram, 95-kilogram, over 100 kilogram and regular overall categories of men’s bodybuilding section.
Davoud Shokrollah, Hamed Mahmoud Aini and Mehdi Ghanavati clinched three silvers in the 80-kilogram, 85-kilogram and 90-kilogram classes.
Mazaher Tabani added a bronze to Iran’s medal tally in the 100-kilogram weight class.
In the men’s classic bodybuilding, Mohammad Reza Ja’afari and Hessam Khosravi won two gold medals in the up to 180cm and over 180cm categories respectively.
Hessam Khosravi claimed the overall silver and Mohammad Reza Ja’afari settled for the bronze.
Additionally, Akbar Sarbaz and Shintia Lakpour got a silver medal and a bronze in the 173cm and 178cm standings of men’s physique division.
The 7th International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships & 12th World Amateur Classic Bodybuilding Championships & IFBB International Congress started in the Spanish seaside resort of Benidorm on November 2 and concluded on November 6, 2017.
