The Iranian bodybuilding squad has ranked first at the first edition of the Olympia Amateur India.
Iran finished at the top of the chart after picking up eight gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals at the conclusion of the tournament in Bombay Exhibition Center in the western coastal city of Mumbai.
Iran’s Mehdi Mostafalou, Saeed Karjalian and Hamid Lakzaei clinched three gold medals in the 85-kilogram, 90-kilogram and 100-kilogram categories of Men’s Bodybuilding section.
Iman Safaei, Morteza Roshanzamir and Abbas Davari snatched three silvers in the 70-kilogram, 100-kilogram and over 100-kilogram classes.
Sajjad Davoudi added a bronze to Iran’s medal tally in the 80-kilogram weight class.
In the Men’s Physique division, Sepehr Haji Ghorbani, Kayvan Shahgholi and Seyyed Mostafa Jejini landed in the first place, and were awarded a gold medal each.
Hossein Abdi and Alireza Nouri got two silver medals, and Yasin Lak pocketed a bronze.
Additionally, Iranian athletes got two gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes in the Men’s Classic Bodybuilding.
The first edition of the Olympia Amateur India started on October 13, and finished on October 16, 2017.
The competitions brought together dozens of male and female bodybuilders from various countries.
