Iranian beach wrestlers have collected fourteen medals, including six gold ones, at the 2017 Beach Wrestling World Championships, and been crowned as the champion of the international sports event.
The Iranian athletes stood atop the podium in Turkey’s southwestern beach town of Dalyan on Sunday evening, having snatched six gold medals through Reza Moghaddasi, Amirreza Sahraei, Reza Shirazi, Soheil Parasteh, Seyyed Ja’far Ghasemi and Pouya Rahmani in the men’s cadet 60-kilogram, cadet over 70-kilogram, junior 60-kilogram, junior 70-kilogram, senior 80-kilogram class and senior over 90-kilogram weight categories.
Amir Hossein Hadipour, Hossein Abbaspour, Mohammad Reza Pakpour, Mohammad Naderi, Omid Hassantabar and Pejman Fazlullahtabar were awarded a silver medal each in the cadet 70-kilogram, junior 70-kilogram, junior 80-kilogram, senior 70-kilogram, senior 80-kilogram and senior 90-kilogram sections respectively.
Amir Hossein Esmaeili and Mostafa Nejati also got a bronze medal apiece in the cadet 70-kilogram and junior over 80-kilogram weight divisions.
The 2017 Beach Wrestling World Championships started in Dalyan, Turkey, on October 13, and wrapped up on October 15.
