Iran’s national under-21 volleyball team is set to start its campaign at the 2017 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship in the Czech Republic with a match against the Italian side.
The Iranian squad will meet the European team in a Pool C fixture in the southern Czech city of České Budějovice on Friday evening.
Iran’s national under-21 volleyball team consists of Javad Karimi, Ali Ramezani, Rasoul Aghcheli, Pouriya Yali, Amir Hossein Esfandiyar, Esmaeil Mosafer, Shayan Shahsavand, Maysam Salehi, Ali Asghar Mojarrad, Ali Yousefpour, Tayyeb Eini and Esmaeil Talebi.
The team is led by head coach Behrouz Ataei. Masoud Aramat, Alireza Tolou’ Kian and Ahmad Lahouti are his assistants.
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship will be hosted by Czech Republic in the cities of Brno and Ceské Budejovice from June 23 to July 2.
Pool A features the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada and Morocco. Russia, Turkey, Cuba and USA are in Pool B.
Iran has been drawn with Italy, Argentina and Ukraine in Pool C. China, Brazil, Egypt and Japan form Pool D.
The world championship will be the nineteenth edition of the international volleyball tournament for men's national teams under the age of 21.
