Iranian sportsmen have exhibited convincing performances at the fifth edition of Confédération Sportive Internationale Travailliste et Amateur (CSIT) World Sports Games in Latvia, and claimed six medals, including three gold ones, in the multinational and multi-sport event.
On Thursday, Morteza Nazemi participated in the men’s discus throw competitions, and registered a throw of 44.75 meters to be awarded the gold medal.
Reza Malekpour also managed to win gold in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.14 seconds.
In the men's 400m division, Iranian athletes Ehsan Tahmasebi and Malekpour earned the gold and silver medals respectively.
Also on Thursday, Iran’s Ahmad Foroud earned the bronze medal in the men’s 1500m section.
The fifth edition of the CSIT World Sports Games kicked off in Riga, Latvia, on June 13 and will run through June 18, 2017.
