Two-time Asian champions just couldn’t have asked for a better start on Monday as they got themselves in front after just 1 minute ,through Kaveh Rezaei, who finished through a crowd of defenders from 8 yards.
Mohsen Karimi then added Esteghlal’s 2nd after the restart from close range to put Esteghlal in a safer position.
And, Brazilian defender Leandro Padovani made it 3-0 late in the match with a wonderful header following Omid Ebrahimi’s accurate delivery, to complete the victory for his side, and leave all four teams in the group A on 3 points.
