Lebanese footballer Rabih Atayah has signed with Zob Ahan Isfahan Football Club, which plays in the Persian Gulf Pro League, also known as Iran Pro League (IPL).
The 26-year-old, who has been capped by Lebanon at full international level, will be playing for the Iranian football club for a season and half under a contract worth $270,000.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by Atayah and members of the club’s board of directors in the central Iranian city of Isfahan on Sunday afternoon. He was assigned the shirt number 9 by the club.
Atayah is under contract with Beirut-based al-Ansar Sporting Club at the moment, and the Lebanese club will receive 20 percent of his contract to allow him to depart.
The midfielder is going to reunite with his countryman Ali Hamam in the Iranian football club.
Zob Ahan Isfahan Football Club stands in the third spot in the IPL table, having collected 28 points.
Persepolis Football Club is the top-ranked soccer team in the rankings, with 35 points.
Tractor Sazi Tabriz Football Club commonly known as Tractor, has amassed 33 points to claim the second position, while fourth-place Paykan Football Club has bagged 26 points. Esteghlal Tehran Football Club has landed in the fourth spot with 25 points.
