US, allies seek to spoil Syria's victory in Aleppo: Analyst

A new deal has reportedly been reached between the Syrian government and the militants in the city of Aleppo to resume the evacuation of civilians and the remaining armed groups from the east of the city, after an earlier halt in the evacuation operations. The pull-out process was suspended on Friday after terrorists opened fire on a convoy at one of the crossing points.

Jim W. Dean, managing editor of Veterans Today, believes the United States and its allies seek to spoil the tremendous public relations victory that Syrians have gotten by freeing Aleppo from the grip of Western-backed terrorists.

“Both Turkey and the US coalition have basically sent some messages in there that they want these guys to drag out the process so they can continue to try to hammer the bad publicity and public relations they have on the Syrian army with these outrageous claims of atrocities,” the analyst told Press TV.

He also noted the terrorists do not have a unified command and control setup, adding that they are a bunch of fractured groups that do not obey the deals.

Dean further noted the Syrian government will certainly want to go into peace talks once it gets Aleppo cleared of militants but it is not going to let these terrorists basically take control over things.

He also hailed Russia's recent media coverage of Aleppo, arguing that there should be more of a coordinated pushback on the media war by keeping the spotlight on the lies that the West has told about this city.
