Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have suffered a shocking 3-2 defeat at the hands of FC Rostov in Russia.
Douglas Costa managed to put the Bavarians ahead on Wednesday when he latched on to a poor clearance from Cesar Navas and fired the ball into the roof of the net, making it 1-0.
But, Iran’s striker Sardar Azmoun leveled the scoring 1 minute before half-time, cutting inside Germany’s Jerome Boateng before slotting the ball beyond the keeper to make it 1-1.
Things then got even worse for Bayern after the restart as Rostov won a penalty in the 50th minute after Boateng brought down Christian Noboa in the box. Dmitry Poloz stepped up and fired the ball into the back of the net to put the Russian side ahead for the first time in the match.
The visitors, however, equalized soon. 2 minutes later Juan Bernat tied the game at 2-apiece, scoring from close range.
But, Christian Noboa's sharp free kick from 20 yards in the 67th minute put the hosts ahead for good, earning them their first ever Champions League victory.
