Microsoft launches 'Minecraft Education Edition' for schools

Minecraft: Education Edition officially launches

World educators can now use Minecraft in their classes following the launch of the game’s new “Education Edition.”

Microsoft and Mojang have officially released the full version of Minecraft Education Edition in over 50 countries months after announcing their plan to use the popular game for instructive purposes.

Minecraft EDU provides users with additional tools such as sharable notebooks and characters with retainable traits that facilitate using Minecraft on an everyday basis.

This is while even the previous version of the game had proved to be a much more popular learning method compared with traditional ways.

The game can be used to teach a variety of subjects from science and math to poetry and art. Educators who have used the game testify that its fun and familiar environment encourages students to be more collaborative and deeply engaged in the curriculum.

The block-based game has attracted a community of over a hundred million fans worldwide since its release in 2011.
