The Iraqi army and volunteer fighters as well as Kurdish forces are engaged in a major operation to liberate the northern city of Mosul.
Some analysts believe that certain regional countries may devise plots to hinder the operation, which is meant to free the city from the grip of the Daesh Takfiri terrorists.
In an interview with Press TV, Marcus Papadopoulos, a publisher and the editor of the Politics First from London, said Iraq should keep a watchful eye on conspiracies involving Turkey and Saudi Arabia against the liberation of Mosul.
“It is very important that the Iraqi army is not impinged in its attempt to liberate Mosul and of course I am referring to blatant interference in the Iraqi government’s campaign to liberate Mosul, interference on behalf of Turkey and on behalf of Saudi Arabia,” the analyst said.
“Perhaps those ISIS fighters should return to the country where they came from, Turkey, to the country where they were trained and where they were equipped,” he added, using the alternative title of Daesh.
Papadopoulos said the Syrian military should prevent those terrorists fleeing Mosul from entering eastern Syria.
He said the liberation of Mosul was as much important as the freedom of the Syrian city of Aleppo, adding that there was no difference between Daesh, al-Nusra Front and the so-called Free Syrian Army, because they were all terrorists.
The fact that Daesh “is now using civilians in Mosul as human shields,” the analyst said, “demonstrates once again … the wicked, repugnant nature of” Daesh terrorists.
