A court has found Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife guilty of abusively treating a former employee at the premier’s residence.

The Jerusalem Labor Court awarded Guy Eliyahu, an ex-maintenance worker, USD 30,000 in damages, according to Israeli media reports on Tuesday.

Eliyahu had filed his lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu last September, saying she had behaved abusively toward him, yelling and making unreasonable demands.

His claims included being asked to bring her food, then being told he was making her gain weight. Eliyahu further said that he was called back to Netanyahu’s residence after midnight for heating food and for having not properly said “goodnight.”

Sara Netanyahu’s lawyers denied the accusations, saying they planned to appeal.

The Tel Aviv regime and the private company that employed Eliyahu are to pay the fine.

Back in February, another former employee also won a case against the Israeli prime minister’s wife, alleging he was subjected to insults and abusive language by her.

Separately this week, Israeli police completed an investigation into allegations that Netanyahu and his wife misused 'state funds.'

The Netanyahu family has long faced scrutiny over accusations that their lifestyles are out of touch with regular Israelis.
