Iranian snooker player Amir Sarkhosh has demonstrated remarkable skills at the 32nd edition of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) Asian Snooker Championship in Qatar, and managed to receive a bronze medal.
The 24-year-old Iranian snooker suffered a 1-5 defeat in his semi-final clash against Mohamed Shehab of the United Arab Emirates in the Qatari capital city of Doha on Friday and landed in the third place at the end of the continental sporting event.
Sarkhosh had earlier overcome Ahmed Saif — a representative from the host country — 4-3 on April 20 to secure a place among the top eight snooker players.
The Iranian sportsman then defeated Philippine opponent Michael Mengorio 5-3 in the quarterfinal round, and advanced to the semifinals.
The 32nd edition of the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship started in Doha, Qatar, on April 16 and finished on April 23.
The tournament attracted dozens of cueists from Hong Kong, India, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and other Asian countries.
Snooker players Amir Sarkhosh, Soheil Vahedi and Arman Dinarvand represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in the championship.
Iranian judges Rahman Harouni, Milad Mirzakhanian as well as Reza Shokri were also in attendance.
