Iranian women's national soccer team has suffered its third loss in a row at the Kuban Spring 2016 Women’s U-19 Football Tournament in Russia, going down to the Russian outfit.
On Tuesday, the Iranian squad, which had lost to Japan 0-2 in its second Group A encounter two days earlier, lost to the European powerhouse 0-4 in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
The young Iranian sportswomen will take on Krasnodar athletes in their last match of the tournament on Thursday for the fifth to eighth places of the event.
The Kuban Spring 2016 Women’s U-19 Football Tournament opened in Sochi, Russia, on March 11, and will finish on March 20.
A total of eight teams, including Estonia, Iran, Japan and Romania are competing in round-robin format.
Iran had been drawn in Group A alongside Japan, Romania and Russia.
Group B consisted of Estonia, North Korea and two teams from the Russian regions of Krasnodar and Sibir.
