US tech giant Apple has slammed the US government for launching a legal fight to force it to break into an attacker's iPhone.
In a statement released ahead of a hearing slated for March 22 before a federal judge in the state of California, Apple accused the government of using the law as "an all-powerful magic wand" to compel the company into assisting law enforcement. It also criticized the FBI for overstepping legal bounds. It has called on the Justice Department to reject the FBI request. Under certain circumstances like kidnapping or breaking an express law, courts can order private parties to do anything the Justice Department demands.
