People have held a demonstration in a village in Iraq’s northern Kirkuk province following a chemical attack carried out by Daesh Takfiri terrorists. The protesters in Taza blocked a main highway that links Baghdad to Kirkuk. They demanded strikes against the Daesh-held village from which the chemical attack was launched. Over a dozen residents are still being treated following the Wednesday rocket attack launched from Bashir, south of Kirkuk city. Local officials say Taza was struck by around 45 rockets in a matter of three hours. They say chlorine was used, but authorities are still working on samples to determine the exact substance used in the attack. Daesh intensified its shelling on the village during the past six weeks. Kurdish Peshmerga forces and volunteer fighters have been deployed to the area, but a military push is needed to drive out the terrorists.
